In Australia’s National Electricity Market, every generating system must meet performance standards set by AEMO under the National Electricity Rules. These standards cover voltage, frequency, active and reactive power response, fault ride through, and system strength impact. Meeting GPS conditions is not automatic it requires engineering analysis, modelling, and often negotiation with AEMO and the network service provider. A generator that fails to meet its registered GPS conditions can be dispatched below its registered capacity or subject to a compliance investigation. We manage the GPS process from feasibility assessment through to final connection agreement for solar, wind, and BESS projects.
