Engineering Advice That Protects Your Grid Connection

American Power Engineers was founded in Melbourne in 2009 to solve a gap in grid connection engineering. We believed technical advice should go beyond study results and consider the project’s timeline, connection budget, and commercial obligations. Our founding principle remains simple: engineering is not finished until the project is ready to connect and operate.

What We Believe

Engineering Advice That Looks Beyond the Technical Finding

We believe effective power engineering goes beyond technical analysis to understand the commercial impact of every engineering decision. Our expertise in GPS compliance within Australia’s NEM helps developers address complex requirements before they become project challenges. As an independent engineering advisory firm, we do not build substations, supply equipment, or provide EPC services, allowing our recommendations to remain focused on the best outcome for each project. Our experience across the NEM, NERC, and National Grid ESO gives us a broader understanding of grid requirements and the engineering principles behind them.

The Engineering Platforms Behind Our Work

We use the same platforms that AEMO, US ISOs, and utility engineers use so our submissions are accepted, our results are credible, and our models do not need to be re-run in a different format after we
deliver them.

We Find the Problems Before the Grid Does

Since 2009, American Power Engineers has helped identify and solve power engineering challenges before they affect connection, dispatch, or compliance. We work across Australia’s NEM, US ISOs, and the United Kingdom, where markets differ but the fundamental engineering challenge remains the same. The grid does not forgive imprecision. Neither do we.
